Na sljedećem terminu Sound art laba, u srijedu 11.2. od 17-20h, prototipirati ćemo oscilatore koristeći Schmitt triggere. Cilj je ponuditi osnovna znanja potrebna za razumijevanje principa rada oscilatora temeljenih na feedbacku, što predstavlja jedan od osnovnih modela hakiranja integriranih krugova za produkciju generatora tona. Rečeno bez tehničkih termina – prototipirat ćemo jednostavni osnovni element sintetizatora zvuka (sintića). Kroz nekoliko sljedećih termina nastavit ćemo koristiti logičke sklopove da prototipiramo i neke druge sastavne elemente sintića (npr. sekvencer).

At the next Sound Art Lab session, on Wednesday, February 11, from 5–8 PM, we will prototype oscillators using Schmitt triggers. The goal is to introduce the basic knowledge needed to understand how feedback-based oscillators work—one of the fundamental approaches to hacking integrated circuits for sound and tone generation. Put simply, without the technical jargon: we’ll be prototyping a simple core building block of a sound synthesizer (a little synth). Over the next few sessions, we will continue working with logic circuits to prototype additional synthesizer components, such as a sequencer.
Everyone is welcome, regardless of prior experience.
