Since 2005, the Multimedia Institute has been working intensively to bring together a community of technology enthusiasts and fighters for free software, open technologies and free culture. The Skills Exchange program, which started with modest regular one-week knowledge exchanges, programs on technological culture and discussions on the social aspects of digital network technologies in the social-cultural center MaMa, produced a model based on which socially engaged groups of technology enthusiasts gather in Osijek, Varaždin, Split , Skopje and Belgrade. Following this connection, the international conference Nothing Will Happen was launched, which takes place four times a year and brings together participants from the post-Yugoslav region as well as activists from Europe. The importance of such a group in sensitizing the wider technological community to social issues is particularly important, as demonstrated during the protest activities against the international agreement ACTA.
